Research outputs from the ALIGN-CCUS project (Accelerating Low Carbon Industrial Growth through CCUS) will be shared in a variety of ways, including webinars and a final project event. As the project gets under way, details of all events will be posted here. Signing up for the e-newsletter is also a good way to find out about forthcoming events.

The third in our series of project webinars will share the latest findings from studies into the technical feasibility, cost and safety of marine CO2 transport and injection into offshore geological storage sites. The webinar will include talks on the opportunities and challenges of shipping CO2, and work to optimise batch-wise injection of CO2 into storage sites. This work package will ultimately create guidelines for those seeking to develop flexible transport and storage networks.

This is the second in our series of webinars from the ALIGN-CCUS project and will provide an overview of current and planned activities in Work Package 4 (WP4): CO2 Re-use.

This area of research combines an industrial-scale carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) pilot demonstration with applied research to gain insights into the technical, economic and environmental attributes of fuel synthesis using captured CO2. As a global, first-of-a-kind project, ALIGN-CCUS will build and test a fully integrated CCU chain at pilot scale in a real industrial environment.

When:
Tuesday, June 5, 2018 - 15:00 to 16:30

The international ALIGN-CCUS project, funded by the EU’s Accelerating CCS Technologies fund, unites science and industry in the shared goal of transforming Europe’s industrial regions into economically robust, low-carbon centres by 2025.

Our 31 partners are working on six key areas of research to support the quick and cost-effective deployment of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) and provide blueprints for its delivery in six European clusters of industrial activity.
